Juniors and seniors: Are eligible for ENG 001A if they have passed their first two years of high school with a 2.6 GPA.
High school students who do not meet the minimum requirement of 2.6 cannot enroll in English courses at WHCL while in high school.
High school students are not eligible to take the co-requisite (ENG 001A w/ ENG 051A) if they do not meet the minimum 2.6 GPA for dual enrollment in English courses. ENG 051A is a co-requisite course for students needing support in ENG 001A. ENG 051A is no longer offered as a stand-alone course, so it cannot be used to make up high school units.
Sophomores: May take the ENG 051A challenge during the spring or summer while waiting on their GPA from their first two years of high school as long as they have a minimum of a 2.6 GPA up until that point. To complete the challenge, students should contact Amber Tidwell at firstname.lastname@example.org to have the process explained and to arrange to complete the challenge.
